FAQ
ReadyCircuit is a comprehensive portfolio of single use purification technologies and fluid management devices that work seamlessly together. At the foundation is an assembly of bags, tubing and various connectors that replicate the function of a standard manufacturing flow path, but in a flexible, ready-to-use and disposable format. Combined with single use CFF and NFF filters, sensors and monitors, these become self-contained purification modules that remove time-consuming process steps associated with conventional systems.
A ReadyCircuit allows processors to maintain an aseptic path and holding/staging areas through purification steps including direct links from disposable bioreactors, NFF, CFF, single use sensing and chromatography. Process equipment such as tanks, plumbing, valves, filters, connectors, sample ports, and fittings can all be provided as part of the ReadyToProcess circuit.
Hardware is not necessary for the basic operation of a ReadyCircuit. However, if there is a requirement to mechanically support or transfer a ReadyCircuit, Cytiva has a line of ReadyKart mobile process workstations that are configurable to most process needs. Cytiva can also recommend off-the-shelf peristaltic pumps, sensor monitors, and other electronic accessories. Hardware options include carts, trays, drums, bins, filter holders, and other electronic accessories.
Yes. Standard circuits flow paths (wetted surfaces) including CFF and NFF filters are validated sterile. This will negate the need for conventional CIP/sterilization (autoclave or live steam sterilization). Further benefits include minimizing the risk of microbial contamination/cross contamination due to insufficient CIP, increased drug screening throughput, and ease of fluid handling and transport. The non-flow paths (external surfaces) are gamma irradiated but not validated sterile.
ReadyMate Genderless Disposable Aseptic Connectors are used in the ReadyCircuit systems. The genderless design facilitates connection simplicity, reduces complexity of inventory, and creates flexibility in assembly of single use flow paths.
ReadyMate connectors provide safe connections for high fluid throughput, are gamma compatible and can be part of a sterile circuit. They can be used to connect assembly components upstream and downstream. Cytiva can also provide other aseptic connectors on custom assemblies.
ReadyToProcess Hollow Fiber cartridges which increase process throughput and eliminate cross-contamination between runs. ReadyToProcess Hollow Fiber cartridges are processed to pre-condition (pre-wet) the membrane, lower total organic carbon (TOC) and conductivity, and minimize endotoxin level. They are gamma-irradiated and available in a wide variety of ultrafiltration molecular weight cut-offs and microfiltration pore sizes from lab to pilot scale.
ReadyToProcess Normal Flow capsules, single-use filters designed for laboratory through process scale applications, with typical volumes ranging from a few mls to thousands of liters of solution. ReadyToProcess NFF capsule assemblies include ReadyMate connectors, are gamma-irradiated and are offered in a variety of membrane types.
Most users of disposable products will autoclave the assembly to eliminate the risk of contamination and then either landfill or incinerate the plastic materials, depending upon local codes and regulations.
Cytiva does not offer a 50 L bag in a hanging configuration due to safety related issues. The 50L bag when full weighs 100+ pounds or 47+ kg. 50L bags are provided in convenient 2-D (or pillow) format that lay flat on a table or can be nested in a tray.
Yes, Custom circuit assemblies provide flexibility for tubing lengths.
