Intensify your upstream operations
Maximize your cell culture productivity
Intensify upstream operations
Continuous biomanufacturing is a key step toward improving drug quality and productivity. Intensification of an upstream operation is where it starts. Learn more about approaches to optimising process efficiency upstream here.
Perfusion is key to realizing productivity gains in upstream bioprocessing
Designed to address your needs for flexibility, reliability, and simplicity in upstream perfusion applications, the Xcellerex Automated Perfusion System (APS) is a single-use system for both process development and production. You can read more about the Xcellerex APS in this data file.
Simplified cell culture expansion
What if multi-stepped shaker flasks and bioreactor processes could be replaced by a single bioreactor? The ReadyToProcess WAVE 25 bioreactor has been successfully used to expand CHO (Chinese hamster ovary) cells from a single vial of high-density cell bank to a 2000 L production bioreactor, and even provide multiple new cell bank vials along the way.
LEARN MOREDeveloping scalable perfusion media
Running perfusion cell culture operations are one way to realise productivity gains in upstream processes. However, it is essential that careful consideration is given to the choice of cell culture media to ensure a cost effective process. In this study, we demonstrate a general workflow to develop high-performing perfusion media using small-scale models.
Scaling a mAb production process
The transfer of a monoclonal antibody production process between scales, often referred to as scale-up or scale-down, is a difficult task. In this study, we have leveraged existing physical characterization data and scaled a process from microbioreactor scale to production scale in an Xcellerex XDR-1000 bioreactor.
LEARN MORELet Cytiva maximize your perfusion cell culture performance
A successful perfusion processes is highly dependent on having an optimised cell culture media and process parameters for your specific application. Just like people, each cell line is unique and no project goals are identical. We partner with our customers to understand their objectives and challenges and design custom solutions to improve their process whether it’s for an intensified N-1 or production bioreactor process.
