Tom Rees

General Counsel

Appointed in July 2019, Tom leads Cytiva’s Legal, Intellectual Property and Compliance Teams with a steady hand and a fast pace.

Throughout his career, Tom has worked toward upholding the highest standards of integrity and doing the right business, the right way. Tom served as the Chief Compliance Officer for GE Healthcare from 2016-2019, at which point he joined the Life Sciences business, which is now doing business as Cytiva.

From 2014-2016, Tom was the General Counsel of GE Power Conversion (a division of GE Energy), based in Paris, France. Before that, he lived and worked in Istanbul, Turkey, serving as General Counsel for GE Healthcare’s EAGM Region, covering Russia/CIS, Turkey, the Middle East and Africa.

From 2006 to 2011, Tom was the Senior Counsel for GE Healthcare’s Pharmaceutical Diagnostics business for Europe, Middle East & Africa, and GE Healthcare’s Country Counsel for the UK.

Prior to GE, Tom worked as a Corporate Lawyer at Linklaters International Law Firm in London and New York from 1997-2006 where he worked on mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions.

Tom holds a Law Degree from The University of Southampton in the UK.

Tom is married to Nell and is the proud father of Arthur and Polly. He enjoys spending time outdoors and is a keen runner.
