About Capto MMC
Capto MMC is a multimodal cation exchanger belonging to the Capto family of BioProcess resins for fast, efficient and cost-effective protein purification. Capto MMC combines agarose base matrix development with innovative ligand chemistry. The resin is composed of a rigid, high-flow agarose matrix and a novel multimodal ligand.
Different and versatile features
The multimodal functionality gives Capto MMC a different selectivity, compared with traditional ion exchangers. Capto MMC can be used to bind proteins at the conductivity of the feed material and to solve specific purification challenges at both high and low ionic strengths. The ligand contains carboxylic group and, thus, its features partly resemble a weak cation exchanger. For Capto MMC, however, also several other types of interactions are involved, including hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions.
