Overview
Today, tens of thousands of individual cells from asingle tissue sample or patient can be analyzed, giving researchers the opportunity to understandindividual cell populations and their behavior indiseased tissue. One of the first, and most critical, steps in single cell analysis is the dissociation oftissues to yield fully disaggregated but intact andviable cells, which is often performed with tissuedissociation enzymes. Effective tissue dissociationprotocols are necessary to complete single-cellanalysis so that targeted treatments can bedeveloped for lungs, liver, brain, and kidneys.
Our QC validated tissue dissociation enzyme mixes*are ready-made solutions for dissociation of lung, liver, brain, and kidney tissues. The enzyme mix kitscan be used in manual or semi-automated tissuedissociation protocols and are effective at 4⁰C or37⁰C**. Key features include:
- Improved single cell viability and reduced cellular aggregation.
- Low variability with minimal hands-on time.
- Dissociates segments that are operative in each tissue.
- Optimized for manual tissue disaggregation techniques and semi-automated** techniques using the VIA Extractor™ tissue disaggregator.
*For research use only.
**Performance data is not yet available for Enzyme mix D (for kidney) using manual methods or at temperatures of 37⁰C. Enzyme mix B (for liver) is recommended for use at 37⁰C as liver is very sensitive to cold. Performance data is not available for Enzyme mix A (for lung) using semi-automated methods at temperatures of 37⁰C. Performance data is not available for Enzyme mix C (for brain) using semi-automated methods at temperatures of 37⁰C. Data is available for all other enzymes in the range.
***For manual dissociation protocols, enzyme mixes A, B, and C are sufficient for 25 reactions each, while enzyme mix D is sufficient for 20 reactions.
