Sensor Chip SA

Sensor Chip SA is a high-affinity streptavidin-coated sensor chip designed for the immobilization of biotinylated molecules. It is used in surface plasmon resonance (SPR) interaction analysis on Biacore™ systems to study biomolecular interactions in real-time without the need for labeling.

Sensor Chip SA is specifically optimized for biotinylated ligands, including proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, and small molecules. The strong and specific biotin-streptavidin interaction ensures stable and oriented immobilization, which is ideal for high-sensitivity kinetic and affinity studies.

Sensor Chip SA is not designed for reversible ligand capture. Once a biotinylated ligand is bound to the streptavidin surface, it is permanently immobilized. Therefore, the chip is typically used for single-ligand assays or until the surface is saturated. For reversible capture, Cytiva suggests using Sensor Chip CAP with the Biotin CAPture Kit.
