Stay in control of your images
Scientific images include raw data that journals often request when submitting articles. Modern researchers need to be able to safely handle images, and easily verify their authenticity.
In the last few decades there has been tremendous development in the area of information security. Methods and algorithms for safeguarding digital assets have improved and evolved into standards such as the one that is used by our Image Integrity Checker to verify image authenticity.
Image Integrity Checker features:
- Free to use
- Image authentication in one click
- Checks image integrity of folders containing as many images as needed
- Generates a report to attach to any paper submission
- Compatible with Amersham™ Typhoon™ images from control software v 4.0 or newer
- Compatible with Amersham™ ImageQuant™ 800 imaged from control software version 2.1 or newer
Differentiate modified and original images
When there are many shared folders, multiple instrument users, and high staff turnover, it´s difficult to decide which saved images can be deleted, to save space on the server.
With our Image Integrity Checker you can easily distinguish the original image because the Image security hash tag remains embedded for the file’s lifetime.
- Distinguish original images for as long as the files are kept
- Securely free Hard Disk/Server space by making sure you only keep the original files, ensuring you don’t lose raw data
Hash functions for data authenticity
The Secure Hash Algorithms (SHA) are a family of standard cryptographic hash functions used to ensure digital information has not been altered. They are published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to make unique data fingerprints in digital areas such as proof of vaccination, digital signatures, and digital currency.
We introduced images with SHA-256 digital fingerprints for Amersham™ ImageQuant™ 800 GxP imaging systems. Our Image Integrity Checker is free stand-alone software that can now read digital fingerprints generated in Amersham Typhoon™ laser scanner and Amersham ImageQuant 800 CCD camera systems, to confirm that raw data is intact and correct.
Streamline your image submission
When submitting articles to a scientific journal, images representing your raw data are often required. Safe handling and easy authentication of these images is necessary in modern research.
Image submission can turn into a nightmare with so many components to consider: DPIs, PPIs, image compression, pixel depth, file extension types, and image raw data. If these concepts are not fully understood you may inadvertently submit an image that is not acceptable for publication.

ImageQuant™ TL Gel and Blot analysis module is the recommended analysis software to quantify gels and blots because it does not modify image raw data.
Cytiva does not guarantee image integrity if you analyze image data in analysis software other than IQTL.
