You can be certain that your HyClone serum comes from the country on the label. Our sera are ISIA traceability certified, and we go beyond industry standards of document traceability with independent testing by Oritain™. The origin of each batch of characterized and defined FBS from the United States, Australia, and New Zealand is verified using chemical fingerprinting.

Fetal bovine serum (FBS) is still used in many cell culture applications, including viral vector production. FBS from a single origin may be limited, so qualifying FBS from other origins is one way to enhance security of supply.

We compared three HyClone Characterized FBS products from different countries; United States (US), New Zealand (NZ), and Australia (AUS) to show equivalency of viral vector production performance using a single adherent HEK293T cell line.
