Primer Support™ 5G products are the fifth generation solid supports for oligonucleotide synthesis from Cytiva.These high-loaded solid support products are optimized for synthesis of oligonucleotides with a length of up to 70 nucleotides.
- High loading capacity: For synthesis of DNA and RNA oligonucleotides of up to 70 bases, a nucleoside loading of 350 μmol/g for DNA and 300 μmol/g for RNA can be used without compromising yield or purity.
- Cost efficient synthesis: The high nucleoside loading on Primer Support 5G allows forcost savings ascompared to our previous generations of solid supports
- Convenience and flexibility: UnyLinker can be used for DNA, 2’OMe RNA, or other oligonucleotides that are compatible with 8 hour cleavage conditions (e.g., DNA or 2’OMe), hence enabling stocking of one support.
The Primer Support 5G base particle is composed of cross-linked polystyrene and delivers higher crude purityand synthesis yield compared to previous generations of our solid supports. These benefits are most evidentfor synthesis of RNA oligonucleotides. This support is available derivatized with UnyLinker, DNA, or RNAnucleosides. Additional versions of Primer Support 5G or larger pack-sizes are available on custom basis. Theseproducts include the same regulatory support as the standard products. Samples of tailored versions of PrimerSupport 5G, for R&D use, is available via www.chemgenes.com. Alternatively, customized 3’ nucleosides, modifications or linker can be coupled to Primer Support 5G amino. Primer Support 5G has been proven inscalable processes from research to industrial scale1

Primer Support 5G is designed for the synthesizers and columns that Cytiva supplies. The ÄKTAoligosynt™, OligoPilot™, and OligoProcess™ hardware platforms range from synthesis at a 10 μmol scale toseveral moles. The application data shown in this data file was generated with predecessors of the current ÄKTA oligosynt synthesizer.
