Advanced lab-scale protein purification using CiPP
Course
About course
In this 3-day hands-on course, you will learn advanced applications of ÄKTA™ chromatography systems and UNICORN™ 7.x control software for optimizing lab-scale protein purification. The course will provide an understanding of the relevant chromatography techniques such as affinity, ion exchange, and size-exclusion chromatography.
In the lab, you will use the capture, intermediate, and polishing purification (CiPP) strategy as a basis for planning, executing, and optimizing a multistep purification process of an affinity-tagged recombinant protein (sfGFP) expressed in Escherichia coli.
The course will also give an overview of mechanistic modelling and its application in the optimization of protein purification.
Prior to attending
The course necessitates a basic understanding of handling ÄKTA chromatography systems and UNICORN 7.x control software.
In addition, a basic understanding of computer handling and fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) including common techniques like affinity (AC), ion exchange (IEX), or size-exclusion (SEC) chromatography is expected to fulfil the demands of this advanced hands-on training course.
