Get started: purification of mAb variants
Course
About course
The success of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) as therapeutics and the multi-domain structure of antibodies has made it possible to create antibody variants, such as bispecific antibodies (bsAbs) and smaller antibody fragments.
Purification of bsAbs and antibody fragments isn’t as straightforward as for mAbs. These molecules show wider variation in binding affinities and are often more challenging to separate from impurities, such as host cell proteins (HCP), host DNA, aggregates, and isoforms.
In this free, interactive course you’ll learn which purification strategies overcome these challenges. You’ll also find useful tips for different chromatography steps.
Key learnings:
- Learn the important considerations for selecting a purification protocol.
- Understand which resins are suitable for the first capture step.
- Discover the different strategies for removal of product- and process-related impurities in the polishing steps.
Before taking the course, we recommend that you are familiar with the various chromatography techniques used for protein purification. If you need a refresher, then check out the online course Get to know: chromatography techniques.
Are you new to mAb variants? Then the course Get to know: mAb variants will be useful for you.
You can access and complete each lesson individually, with the full course taking around 45 minutes to complete.
Certification
You will get an online certificate after the course completion. You can view and download it in a section My Courses. With Cytiva Certificates, portions of our programs have been split into online modules, so you can earn a high quality knowledge in interactive format.
