Downstream processing of RNA lipid nanoparticles

Course

About course

This free interactive course explores the downstream processing of RNA-LNPs and other nanomedicines using tangential flow filtration (TFF). You’ll explore the fundamentals of TFF and a generalized approach to optimizing process parameters.

While transformative medicine is now the spotlight of many researchers both in academia and industry, there are still many challenges to deal with technology transfer; from the very early discovery stage to clinical manufacturing and commercial production of therapeutic products.

Lipid nanoparticles and other nanomedicines have unique physicochemical properties that impact their performance, and thus, require unique considerations when developing a process for purification. Downstream processing of RNA-LNPs at the preclinical stage has been addressed as an important challenge by the researchers that needs to be resolved for a successful transition in the development and commercialization journey.

Key learnings:

- Learn the basic working principle of TFF, key terminology, and best practices.

- Understand how to design, develop, and control a TFF process for RNA-LNPs.

- Learn the essential steps for optimization of downstream processing of RNA-LNPs.

- Review the most recent in-house data on optimization of TFF process for RNA-LNPs.

Learn at your own pace. This 90-minute course is divided into several short topics you can access and complete on demand.
