Biacore sensor chip for use when working with model membrane systems. Hydrophobic surface allows a supported lipid monolayer to form.
- Suitable for the study of membrane-associated interactions.
- Incorporates an interaction partner associated with membrane surfaces into a monolayer to enable interaction analysis.
- User-prepared liposomes adsorb spontaneously to the hydrophobic surface to form a supported lipid monolayer with the hydrophilic “heads” directed out toward the solution.
Surface
A flat hydrophobic surface consisting of long-chain alkanethiol molecules is attached directly to the gold film. The flat hydrophobic sensor surface facilitates adsorption of lipid monolayers for analysis of interactions involving lipid components.
Sensor chip formats for Biacore systems
Biacore sensor chips are available in two formats.
Series S sensor chips are for use with Biacore 1 series, Biacore 8 series, Biacore S200, Biacore T200, and Biacore 4000 SPR systems.
Sensor chips not designated with Series S are designed for Biacore X100 and Biacore C SPR systems.
