Overview

Biacore sensor chip for use when working with model membrane systems. Hydrophobic surface allows a supported lipid monolayer to form.

Suitable for the study of membrane-associated interactions.
Incorporates an interaction partner associated with membrane surfaces into a monolayer to enable interaction analysis.
User-prepared liposomes adsorb spontaneously to the hydrophobic surface to form a supported lipid monolayer with the hydrophilic “heads” directed out toward the solution.

Surface

A flat hydrophobic surface consisting of long-chain alkanethiol molecules is attached directly to the gold film. The flat hydrophobic sensor surface facilitates adsorption of lipid monolayers for analysis of interactions involving lipid components.
