Overview of Cellbag™ bioreactor containers for cell culture
The Cellbag™ bioreactor container is mounted onto the electric rocking base unit of a WAVE™ Bioreactor system and inflated. Cell culture media and cells are loaded into the single-use chamber. The rocking motion of the base unit induces waves in the cell culture fluid to provide efficient mixing and gas transfer, which enables cell growth.

The Cellbag™ bioreactor container portfolio offers volumes ranging from 0.5 to 200 L with many combinations of the following components:

Cellbag™ bioreactor container materials of construction
Cellbag™ bioreactor containers with Bioclear™ 10 have fluid contact layers that are a USP Class VI ethylene vinyl acetate/low density polyethylene copolymer. This composition provides biological compatibility for animal cell cultivation. Outer noncontact layers are made of low-density polyethylene, providing strength and low gas permeability.
Porous polyethylene-based perfusion filter
Perfusion Cellbag™ bioreactor containers are fitted with a porous polyethylene-based perfusion filter that floats on the medium and is used to retain cells in the bag during perfusion cultivation or medium exchange. Perfusion bags come with two filter options.
Single-use bioreactor bags available in new film
Cellbag™ bioreactor containers with Fortem film are now available for animal cell cultivation in ReadyToProcess WAVE™ rocking motion bioreactors. Fortem™ single-use film was built from scratch for bioprocessing. Fortem™ film delivers an enhanced material science profile, application performance, and supply chain security.
